On a few projects...

Hi there! As promised I have some pics of a few things I have been able to complete lately!

A few of my projects have been gifts so you cant see those, but others have been a result of some major nesting lately so you can see those! Although I cant guarantee how long they will be in their current spot...things tend to get shuffled here :)

So anyway, Saturday morning Weston and I headed out early to beat the crowds and heat and to pick up several odds and ends. We were at Target to get a new home phone when I rounded the corner and saw these kitchen towels :)

Usually I go back and forth about a purchase, but not this. From the moment I saw it I new what I wanted to do with it so I grabbed me up two and never looked back :)

While Weston napped that afternoon I worked on turning it into a pillow.
I have wanted a grain sack pillow for a long long time, but they are expensive and I never had an extra hundred dollars lying around to spend on a pillow :)

I couldnt be happier with how it turned out! I think it will be perfect with our fall decorations too!
I want to make another one, but I ran out of pillow stuffing and room on our couch so I will keep it for another afternoon :)
I think it would be really cute turned into a market tote too!

It was so easy to do! I literally just cut it in half put the two pieces back to back, pinned, sewed around and stuffed!

I made that '07 pillow too...
I have been working on it awhile and finished sewing it up on Saturday!

Behind all those pillows :) is another project I wrapped up this weekend.
That wall is constantly in transition...and I kind of like to keep it seasonal.
I remember reading in one of my mom's magazine's when I was younger about how to incorporate vacation memorabilia into your decorating when the summer ends.

I liked that concept so currently that little wall is our "beach wall".
It was such a great weekend and Cameron and I both enjoy looking at the pictures!

If you decide you want to try this concept of the clothesline picture frame dealy the only thing I would reccomend is printing your pictures in matte because they always have a glare with the shiny...ugh!

Below our beach pics is some candles and a jar with a few shells and some sand from the trip!

I dont know if this next thing really is a project or not, but I thought I would share it because its kinda cute.
I brought home (to tx) from the farm (in MO) a ladder out of my dad's field to use as decoration in our house.
It usually houses a few books in our playroom, but right now it holds something else.
You see, Weston loves puzzles right now, and I love doing them with him.
But he is also just a year and half old and sometimes gets bored with them and just dumps all of those pieces everywhere.
I am having quite the difficulty bending over right now, so they went up on the later for awhile last week.
We are taking a break from picking up ALL THOSE PIECES for awhile...especially that alphabet puzzle!

So anyway...just a little funny for ya today :)

If you can believe it I have even more projects finished or in the works. I have done a lot in Weston's room and a little in our room. Some shifting in the kitchen plus a bunch that arent even in the house.

But I will have to show you those another day ;) My little man is up and we have to get outside and enjoy it before the heat shoots up!

And yes, in case you are wondering that is Weston's little train on the coffee table :) That is its new home since I robbed his train table to make him a big boy table :)

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Oh and because Layla is the sweetest and these pillows are too great to pass up I linked the pillow to here :) so everyone can enjoy!

  7. Love these pillows! I, too, have been coveting grain sack pillows, but can't afford them. They were only just putting them out on the shelves in my Target in Massachusetts today.
